Obituary

Marilyn Jean Probst, 92, of Aurora, Indiana,  passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

 She was born January 3, 1929 in Dearborn County, IN,  of the late Lytle Parks and Mayme (Mendel) Parks.  
 She worked Schenley Distillery, retiring after over 23 years of service.  She was a long time member of St John Lutheran Church, Aurora, IN.  Marilyn enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, and baking.  She was an awesome cook, known especially for her potato salad and German chocolate cake.  Her faith and family were most important to her. Marilyn has left a legacy of kindness for all who knew her.  She will be deeply missed.   

Marilyn is survived by  loving children, John L (Jane) Probst of Moores Hill, IN, Phillip L. (Margaret Williams ) Probst of Aurora, IN, Eldon G.(Jeanne) Probst of Moores Hill, IN; Daughter, Kimberly (Tom) Roberts of Aurora, IN; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 

 She was preceded in death by parents, Lytle Parks, and, Mayme G. (Mendel) Parks, Husband, John Phillip Probst Jr., Sisters, Evelyn "Sis" Manford.and Katheryn Ward.

Friends will be received Friday, March 5, 2021, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the St. John Lutheran Church Aurora, 220 Mechanic St., Aurora, Indiana.  

Services will be held at 1:00 Friday, also at the Church. Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
 
Contributions may be made to the St John Lutheran Church, Aurora Life Squad, or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.  If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.

Due to the current situation dealing with COVID-19, we are following the directives from Governor Holcomb and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concerning large events and mass gatherings. The family deeply appreciates the support and love shown from friends, but the health and well being of everyone in our community is of top priority. We are asking everyone who will be in attendance to please remember the social distancing guidelines at all times, and the wearing of masks is highly recommended.  Alternative ways to express your condolences can be done by going online at our website and leaving the family a message, sending a card, flowers, or making a donation in memory of their loved one.
