James Edward "Jim" Smith, 75, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Saturday May 16, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born August 10, 1944 in New Castle, IN, son of Gemma (Moles) Smith and the late Edward M. Smith.
Jim worked in construction for over 50 years, he was the owner/operator for Smith Builders.
He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Trustee.
Jim loved nature and loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed gardening. Jim was a big animal lover, dogs, sheep, and other farm animals.
James is survived by his loving spouse of 53 years Karin (Dils) Smith of Aurora, IN., children, Jamie (Anita) Smith of Lawrenceburg, IN, Chris Smith of Houston, TX, Arin (Thomas) Webb of Amelia, OH; brothers, Stewart Smith of Gainsville, FL, Bruce (Maya) Smith of Spencer, IN; grandchildren, Devon Melton, Leah Bennett, Jordyn Smith, Colton Smith, Landon Smith, Peyton Smith, Dylan Willoughby, Jason Willoughby, Maddy Webb, and Alex Webb.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward M. Smith.
Private family visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2020, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 16393 St. Rd. #148, Aurora, Indiana.
Private services will be held at the church at 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
