Garry Wayne "Zerbe" Withered, 65, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021, in Edgewood, Kentucky.
He was born September 17, 1955, in Batesville, IN, son of the late Donald H. Withered and Vera (Richards) Withered.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where he was the custodian for 5 years and served on the Greeters Committee.
Zerbe worked at Don's ARCO, R & L Auto Supply, Ambuscher, then he went on to Multiple Machinery.
He loved mowing grass and watching classic TV, such as the Andy Griffith Show and Leave it to Beaver. He loved sports, he was a Cincinnati Reds, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals fan. Music was his passion; Zerbe loved playing the drums, and did so for over 52 years. His last show was with the Steve Brooks & the Bootleggers, but he played with several local bands. His family was precious to him, his life was about spending time together. He was a devout husband, brother, dad, gramps and friend. He loved his new grandson, Hayden. He was a pillar in the community and touched many lives. Garry was a very giving person in life and continued with his giving nature by being an organ and tissue donor, helping over 100 people. Garry is survived by his loving spouse Nina (Oak) Withered, daughter, Elise Withered (Chris Larcombe) of Australia; son, Elijah "Eli" Withered (Elizabeth "Lizzard" Miller) of Aurora, IN; siblings, Larry (Buttons) Dickens of Lawrenceburg, IN, Donna Weaver of Champaign, IL, Jeff "Poe" (Robbin) Withered of Aurora, IN; grandson, Hayden Meloy Larcombe; in-laws, Jack (Grace Ann) Oak of Dillsboro, IN; his loving dog, Zeppelin and his great friend/brother J.B.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received Friday, May 21, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Aurora, 6060 Blair Road, Aurora, IN. 47001.
Services will be held immediately following visitation at 8:00 pm with Pastor Richard Kolasky officiating.
