Donald Dale "Pickles" Land, 81, of Dillsboro, Indiana, passed away Friday January 22, 2021 at his residence.
He was born July 20, 1939 in Switzerland County, Indiana. The son of the late Clarence A. Land and Inez (Eaglin) Land.
Don worked for Paul H. Rowe for several years.
He was a member of the American Legion (SAL) in Dillsboro. He was a lifetime member of the Aurora Eagles.
Donald enjoyed fishing. He loved people and loved telling stories. He enjoyed having drinks with his friends and family.
Donald is survived by his children, Ronald Land of Dillsboro, IN, Linda Land of Vevay, IN, Barbara Land of Milan, IN, Terry Land of Moores Hill, IN; siblings, Louis (Deedie) Land of Lawrenceburg, IN, Bonnie Land of Aurora, IN, John Robert (Diane) Land of Lawrenceburg, IN, Eugene (Bonnie) Land of Lawrenceburg, IN, Rick (Norma) Land of Aberdeen, OH; grandchildren, Ronnie Land, Chris Yocum, Jessica Grimes, Jeffrey Yocum, Cassie Land, Jeffrey Savage; great-grandchildren, Lilly Land, Bubba & Emma Yocum, Charlie Yocum, Alex & Austin Yocum, Kylie & Gabe Grimes, Jayden Yocum.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Otis Land, Shirley Buckingham, Jerry Land; grandchildren, Darrell Yocum, Jr. and April Yocum.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 2-6 pm at the Dillsboro American Legion, 12915 Main Street, Dillsboro, Indiana. Masks are required to enter.
Contributions may be made to the (SAL) the sons of the legion in Dillsboro. If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.
