James L. "Captain"  Slayback, 76, of Aurora, IN, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in Lawrenceburg, IN.

He was born Monday, February 8, 1932 in Hamilton County, Ohio, Son of the late Garfield Slayback and the late Elizabeth Bleavins Slayback

He served his Country as a Navy Veteran.  He was a member of Aurora Moose Lodge, Aurora American Legion, Korean War Vet Color Guard and Aurora VFW.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting & golfing.  He worked as an Operator for Monsanto, retiring after over 30 years of service.

Surviving are his Wife: Glorianna Slayback;  Sons, Robbie James Slayback, Mark Anthony (Laura L.) Slayback, Andrew L. (Amy M.) Slayback, Matthew Earl (Chasity Sue) Slayback all of Aurora, IN; Daughter, Angela Kay (Tim) Whiteford of Aurora, IN;   Brothers, Irvin (Theresa) Slayback of Lawrenceburg, IN, William (Gayle) Slayback of Aurora, IN; 9 Grandchildren & 1 Great Grandchild.
 

Services

Friends will be received 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Rullman Hunger Denney Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Saturday, at 11:00 am with  Pastor Charles Hill officiating.

Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, IN.  Color Guard Services will be conducted by the Korean War Veterans and the American Veterans.
