James  J. "Jim"  McClain, 76,  of Lawrenceburg, IN (Manchester), died Saturday, March 14, 2009 in Batesville, IN.

He was born Friday, August 19, 1932 in Dadeville, AL, Son of the late James R. McClain and the late Josie Hall McClain.

He served his Country as an Air Force Veteran.  He was a member of  Zion Lutheran Church Manchester, IN.  Jim was  as a Boy Scout Leader of Troop #646 for many years.  He worked as a  Fork Lift Operator  for Quickrete Company and Alton Box Factory.

Surviving are  his Wife, Carolyn McClain of Lawrenceburg, IN; Sons, Joseph McClain &  Jay McClain  both of Lawrenceburg, IN; Daughters, Judy (Kim)  Meyer of Greensburg, IN; and Janet (Brent) Gutapfel of Sunman, IN; 9 Grandchildren & 9 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by His Son, John & Sister, Wilma Hensley.
 

Services

Friends will be received from11:00 - 1:00 PM, Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Zion Lutheran Church,  Manchester, IN with funeral services on  Friday at 1:00 pm, immediately following visitation.  Rev. Kirstin M. Springmeyer will be officiating.

Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Manchester, IN.
