James Francis Schoonover, 81,  of Lawrenceburg, IN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2009.

He was born Tuesday, March 6, 1928 in Franklin County, Indiana, Son of the late James Ashton Schoonover and the late Avanella Hart Schoonover.

He served his Country as a Korean Army Veteran.  He was a member of Aurora VFW and Aurora American Legion.

He worked as a Machinist for Ford Motor Company, Sharonville, OH retiring after over 39 years of service.

Surviving are Son, Stephen Schoonover of Lawrenceburg, IN;  Sisters, Mary Bischoff &  Esther Ruth Taylor of West Harrison, IN, June Allen of Milan, IN, Mildred A. Meshew of Elizabethtown, KY;  Brothers, Albert  Schoonover of Harrison, OH, James Schoonover of Hamilton, OH;  Grandchildren, Shelby Schoonover of Cincinnati, OH, Michelle Schoonover of Atlanta, GA and many Nieces & Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Virginia Grenat Schoonover, Brothers, Paul & Lewis Schoonover.
 

Services

Friends will be received 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Friday, at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow in the Hogan Hill Cemetery, Aurora, IN.  Color Guard Services will be conducted by the Korean War Veterans and the American Veterans.
